Position Description:

We are seeking a Data Privacy Program Manager to join our Global Data Privacy team. In this key role, you will serve as a subject matter expert and internal consultant on all projects, initiatives, and processes that involve the processing of personal data and/or have data privacy implications.
This role may be based in Austin, TX or Newport Beach, CA. Relocation assistance will be provided.

  • Keep current on developments in global privacy laws and regulations
  • Collaborate with the global legal teams to assess the implications of new or amended privacy laws
  • Provide the business with practical guidance and support on Data Privacy matters (including Records Management) in projects and initiatives involving personal data processing
  • Facilitate the identification and mitigation of global privacy risks concerning new business activities, outsourcing arrangements, and other global projects
  • Develop and maintain Privacy Notices for websites, employees, job applicants, etc., globally
  • Develop and maintain the Record of Processing Activities
  • Handle and respond to data subject requests and data privacy-related complaints
  • Develop privacy-related procedures
  • Review Vendor Data Protection Agreements (DPAs)
  • Draft or coordinate Privacy Impact Assessments
  • Prepare responses to data privacy related RFPs and DDQs
  • Coordinate the handling and resolution of data incidents, including actual and potential data privacy incidents
  • Assess the data privacy risks of new and existing vendors, including reviewing responses to the data privacy section of vendor due diligence questionnaire
  • Develop Data Privacy training for the firm and additionally to the business as needed
  • Prepare presentations and communication to senior management

Position Requirements:


  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum two years of experience in data privacy with a major law firm, management consultancy, or multinational operating company
  • General working knowledge of foundational requirements of global data privacy laws such as EU / UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)
  • Experience in the financial services industry is of advantage but not required
Desired Qualifications

  • Experience managing or supporting privacy programs
  • Prior experience in external/internal audit, compliance, or operational risk
  • Privacy certification (e.g., CIPP, CIPM)
