Position Description:

Position Overview
As an Associate on the Alternatives Consultant Specialist team, you will support the group's efforts in sales and servicing PIMCO's alternative products. You will act as an internal resource, respond to inquiries, and collaborate with the Consultant Relations Group (CRG) on internal alternative sales initiatives. This includes, but is not limited to, meeting preparation and follow-ups, briefing memos, CRM queries, pipeline and business reporting, questionnaire responses, monthly client performance reporting, assistance in ongoing investor operational due diligence requests and meetings, and special projects.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Learn our alternative products, sales cycle, and client servicing to be able to respond to client and prospect requests and help contribute to selling our alternatives products
  • Contribute to internal alternatives prospecting initiatives for the CRG team across our existing clients/prospects across channels
  • Expertly use tools such as Excel spreadsheets, macros, query tools, CRM/Perform, and external databases to find solutions to help improve existing sales/prospecting/business processes
  • Maintain and enhance business and sales pipeline reporting for CRG alternatives opportunities
  • Research competitors and industry trends to help CRG effectively position our alternative products
  • Build positive relationships with internal partners, including the Product Strategy Group, Relationship Managers, Compliance, and others
About You

  • Have a fundamental understanding of alternative investment strategies operational processes combined with a strong desire to learn more
  • Advanced communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Have a strong talent for both analyzing and communicating data in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Use effective time management skills to maintain a dedication to quality and attention to detail; ensuring that all work is completed accurately and on time
  • Thrive in an exciting, fast-paced, and professional environment with frequent shifts in priorities as business needs decide
  • Ability to navigate complexity and work organizationally across multiple stakeholder groups successfully


Position Requirements:

Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics or Accounting
  • Progression toward CFA or CAIA designation is desirable
  • Completion of Series 3, 7, and 63 within the first three months of service required
  • At least two years of finance-related or alternative investor relations experience preferred, ideally in the fixed income or alternatives markets, with some knowledge of the sales process, and client service
  • Ideal candidates are familiar with alternatives products
