Application Development Manager (Ref Data), VP

Who we are looking for
Software Development Manager to lead the development, enhancement and maintenance of Reference Data (Security Master) platforms. This is an opportunity to work within a very strong global development teams and help to develop challenging new products in the financial space using cutting edge technology.
What you will be responsible for
As Software Development Manager you will:

• Lead development projects across predominantly Java / J2EE / React / Springboot / Emerging Technologies
• Managing the successful delivery of projects will require him / her to plan, coordinate and lead activities across the full delivery lifecycle
• Work closely with the department's project managers, business analysts, architects and developers, as well as liaising with key project stakeholders as required. Lead discussions with clients to help gather requirements, complete analysis and enable project teams to be successful in meeting client commitments.
• Assist with prioritization of projects to assure that the development team is working on the highest priority projects. Assisting with the delivery on time and on budget.
• Actively participate in the agile software development process by adhering to the scrum methodology including attending all daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives
• Ensure testing coverage and documentation is complete for each sprint / software release.
• Triage production issues by reviewing code and logs as needed and come up with solutions

• 3+ years development experience
• Programming skills (Java, C++, ReactJS)
• SQL database skills (RDBMS)
• Knowledge of financial services, trade flow (front-office, middle office), security master / reference data is a big plus.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

• 8-12 years of commercial software development, proficient in developing complex app dev solutions
• Experience in web UI development using ReactJS or AngularJS and SQL development is highly desirable
• Basic understanding of REST API and Object Oriented programming using Java
• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent field
• Knowledgeable of commercial software development,
• Professional Java development experience, core Java and Multithreading
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), good interpersonal skills
• Able to work well with peers and clients in a collaborative team environment
• Experience working with an Agile development methodology is desired
• Experience working with XML / JSON object structure
• Kafka / MQ
• Database skills (e.g. Relational: Sybase, SQL Server; NoSQL: MongoDB)
• Good hands-on experience with Development IDEs like Eclipse, Debugging code, deploying and testing local projects
