Position Description:

The Strategic Accounts Team plays a unique and dynamic role that is based around the core responsibility of servicing, and selling to PIMCO's largest intermediary clients. The individuals that make up this team work in a collaborative manner to ensure delivery of the highest level of service to clients.

The Strategic Accounts Account Associate team serves a unique and dynamic role that is based around the core responsibility of servicing PIMCO's U.S. Global Wealth Management clients (i.e. national and regional broker-dealers, banks, platforms, etc.). The individuals that make up this team work within the broader Strategic Accounts group to ensure delivery of the highest level of service to clients. The primary responsibility of the associates and analysts are to work alongside account managers as part of dedicated relationship teams and understand and maintain a working knowledge of firm platforms, manager evaluation process, firm initiatives and investment trends, as well as to gather, analyze, and discuss economic and fixed income trends, evaluate portfolio structures and strategies, and deliver performance attribution analyses. In addition to client servicing responsibilities, many members of the group participate in the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program through the CFA Institute, CIMA, CAIA or other relevant financial designation.


Major Responsibilities:

  • Work with AMs to develop and maintain relationships with gatekeepers, program managers, research analysts and other key broker/dealer and platform personnel at key client firms
  • Analyze business data to identify trends across channel and clients
  • Gather, analyze, and discuss market trends and data with colleagues and clients
  • Analyze portfolio characteristics in the context of broader investment themes
  • Evaluate risk reports, perform attribution research and conduct scenario analysis
  • Create customized client report and respond to ad-hoc inquiries
  • Draft internal presentations and prepare client-servicing materials
  • Summarize and explain complex financial and economic concepts to educate clients
  • Help gather, maintain and disseminate internal resources on key clients to channel stakeholders
  • Support AMs in executing strategic plans to grow business with key clients in partnership with sales
  • Work with AMs to negotiate contracts and business terms


Position Requirements:

Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel and strong knowledge of software applications in general, including but not limited to index-provider databases, query tools and Bloomberg Self-starter, ability to work within the firm's demanding and highly focused environment Team player and collaborator Outstanding relationship building skills Ability to clearly articulate analysis, written and verbally Knowledge of fixed income securities and portfolio management techniques Work effectively with all levels of personnel as part of a team Excellent time management, multi-tasking, organization and communication skills Clear commitment to PIMCO's culture, values and approach Preferred major in Business/Finance, Economics, or Accounting
