In this role, you will:
  • Manage and develop a Small Business Development team of professionals working for acquisition of new relationships with small business customers
  • Create professional teams within Small Business Development functional area through effective selection, training, development, motivation, and retention of highly skilled and proficient financing professionals
  • Make decisions and resolve issues regarding resources, objectives, and operations of Small Business Development functional area and team to meet business objectives
  • Collaborate and consult with Small Business Development peers, colleagues, and managers for building new relationships and growing existing relationships with customers
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Small Business Development
  • Mentor and guide talent development of direct reports and assist in hiring talent
  • This LO position has customer contact and job duties which may include needs assessing and referring those customers interested in a dwelling secured product to a SAFE team member. This position includes assisting customers without taking an application and without offering or negotiating terms of a dwelling secured transaction. Individuals in a LO position also must meet the Loan Originator requirements under Regulation Z (LO) outlined in the job expectations below


Required Qualifications, US:
  • 4+ years of Small Business Development experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 2+ years of Leadership experience

  • Business Banking experience
  • Management experience within a Development environment
  • Management experience in a financial services environment
  • Sales Managment experience
  • Workforce management experience including: directing activities of team members, performance management, career development, coaching, mentoring, and succession planning
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to develop sales people
  • Ability to make client calls and actively participate in the sales development process
  • Ability to manage a sales team
  • Ability to manage a virtual or remote team
  • Expert consultative sales skills
  • Experience making sales calls and sales presentations
  • Experience maintaining employee performance improvement using constructive coaching
  • Leadership experience including; coaching, training, and mentoring
  • Adaptable and flexible coaching style which takes into account the needs and learning styles of a diverse team
  • Knowledge and understanding of outside sales in a consultative Business-to-Business environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of business-to-business sales in the financial services industry
  • Knowledge and understanding of business banking: sales or credit
  • Knowledge and understanding of business banking: products and services


Job Expectations:
  • Individuals in Loan Originator (LO) positions must meet the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau qualification requirements and comply with related Wells Fargo policies. The LO qualification requirements include meeting applicable financial responsibility, character, general financial fitness and criminal background standards. A current credit report will be used to assess your financial responsibility and credit fitness, however, a credit score is not included as part of the evaluation. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening, if necessary
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time


Pay Range:
  • San Diego, California: $106,300 - $188,900 Annually plus opportunities for commission . May be considered for a discretionary bonus, Restricted Share Rights, or other long-term incentive awards
